Kukuo Yapalsi Primary building is well under way

Written by: Ryan T 25June10 25-06-2010

Dear friend and supporter of CID Ghana.

By the kind and generous support of you and many people like you we
have raised over £40,000 to start building the school in the communities
of Kukuo Yapalsi and Tampe Kukuo, outside Tamale in Northern Ghana.

The villagers have made a significant contribution by helping make the blocks and carrying them to the building site. As part of our philosophy we require all communities who benefit from one of our development programs to contribute to it ensuring they feel they help build a better community for themselves, ensuring they feel part of it and help them take ownership of the project to ensure its long term success and support.

Work goes on but due to recent high inflation in Ghana we still need a little bit more funds to finish the school and add a toilet block and water catching system to the building. If you wish to contribute, take part in a sponsored event for us or organize one please contact us on

with thanks

Work begins on the Primary School

Written by: RyanT 2009-06-04

Work has started on the Priamry School CID Ghana are building. As is
the tradition the locks are mixed, moulded and laid out in the sun to
dry.

Work is being carried out by the villagers which allows them to
contribute to the project, helps reduce costs and gives them ownership
of the project and in changing the future for the community.

Although work has started more funds are required to complete the
school so please consider contributing to the project, or organising a
fundraiser, or do a sponsored event with CID Ghana as your nominated
charity.

The dam at Kootingli which CID Ghana has now widened, deepened, fenced and installed a filtration system and bore hole to ensure pure clean water is available in the village instead of walking 1 mile to this, their only water source previously before CID Ghana installed the new system.
